Follow Up
Once you have discovered a student’s level of spiritual interest, you can Follow Up accordingly using The Five:
1) NOT INTERESTED IN SPIRITUAL THINGS
2) INTERESTED IN SPIRITUAL THINGS BUT NOT SURE JESUS IS THE ANSWER
3) INTERESTED IN KNOWING MORE ABOUT JESUS
4) HAVE A RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS AND WANT TO LIVE OUT MY FAITH
1) NOT INTERESTED IN SPIRITUAL THINGS
- Thank them for their time, and wish them well.
2) INTERESTED IN SPIRITUAL THINGS BUT NOT SURE JESUS IS THE ANSWER
- Consider asking: "What is your spiritual background?"
- Then consider asking: "Have you ever heard the word GOSPEL before? Would you have another minutes that I could show you a verse in the Bible that summarizes the GOSPEL?
- Share the Gospel.
- Teach a One Thing Study if there is interest.
3) INTERESTED IN KNOWING MORE ABOUT JESUS
- Consider asking: "What is your spiritual background?"
- Then consider asking: "Have you ever heard the word Gospel before? Would you have another minutes that I could show you a verse in the Bible that summarizes the Gospel? If they are open, share the Gospel!
- If they respond well, consider asking: Have you read much of the Bible on your own? Does that interest you? If so, ask, "You have another minute that I could show you a really simple way to read the Bible? If they are interested, teach them how to do a One Thing Study.
4) HAVE A RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS AND WANT TO LIVE OUT MY FAITH
- Invite them to talk more.
- Teach them how to do a One Thing Study.
- Invite them to meet up again to do another One Thing Study together.
- Invite them to join a Bible study on campus if there is one.
- Connect them to your Christian community.
- When it seems appropriate, show them how to share their faith!
