The Clipboard Survey is helpful tool to get to know new students on campus. You will be amazed at how open some students are to discussion. Here is how you ‘clipboard’:
Begin by praying for God to fill you with His Spirit and connect you to students in whom he is working.
Look for a student who looks like he/she has time to talk.
Walk up to such a student and say something like: “Hi, my name is (Steve), and this is __________, we are with an on-campus club, and we are doing a spiritual survey. Would you like to take it?
If the answer is no, thank him/her and move on. If the answer is “Yes” (and most often the answer is "Yes")...
Take the student through the FARM survey:
F=Family: Give me a word or phrase to describe your family?
A=Academics: What are you studying? What are your academic goals?
R=Recreation: What do you do for fun?)
M=Message: Turn the survey around and lead them through the Spiritual Survey.
