A few days ago I drove to Coalinga to have lunch with a married couple, Josh and Amy. Josh is a chaplain at the local prison; Amy is a counselor at the college. They have a passion for college students at West Hills to know Jesus! Awhile back I met with a local youth pastor, Jarod, and Jarod told Josh and Amy that they needed to meet me. I am so glad he did!
Over lunch I showed Josh and Amy the Soularium spiritual survey. I also walked them through some very simple follow-up tools to share the Gospel and teach students how to read the Bible. At one point, Josh and Amy remarked:
“This is so simple! We were thinking that we were going to have to wait a few months and do a lot of planning and preparation - but we could start doing this now!”
I was so encouraged by their enthusiasm. They are currently thinking and praying through their next step - which might be simply starting to disciple some college students they already know. What a great way to start a disciple-making movement!
Pray for Josh and Amy!
Pray that the Lord would use them to reach West Hills College!
The Yorks are passionate about bringing the Gospel to the nations - especially the unreached of the world (those who have no access to the Gospel). They are convinced that the greatest impact they can have in reaching the unreached is by multiplying disciples on college campuses and equipping churches to be missional disciple-makers.
