A few weeks ago I got an email from Joe. He wrote in his email that he and his wife had moved to the area and were settled and ready to be used by God to invest in college students. While talking to him on the phone, he explained that he and his wife had met each other through a college ministry, and that they both had people loving them and investing in them while they were in college... and that it was such a key time in their lives for spiritual growth! Now, they want to do for others what was done for them.
I asked him, "How did you hear about me?"
His answer? "Google!"
How cool is that!!
So a few days ago I drove to Fairfield to meet with Joe over lunch. We had a wonderful visit. I shared with him some things I have learned about making disciples on college campuses, and gave him some suggestions for how to start. We had a time of prayer to close off our time together.
I am looking forward to the likely next step of getting on campus with Joe at Solano College to show him some ways to connect with students and disciple students into disciple-makers.
Praise the Lord for people like Joe who are so excited to invest in college students.
Pray for Joe, that the Lord would encourage him and equip him and bear fruit through him.
Thank you for joining us in helping the "Joes" to multiply disciples on college campuses!
The Yorks are passionate about bringing the Gospel to the nations - especially the unreached of the world (those who have no access to the Gospel). They are convinced that the greatest impact they can have in reaching the unreached is by multiplying disciples on college campuses and equipping churches to be missional disciple-makers.
