The best way to start a discipleship movement on a community college campus is to find a nearby church that has a passion for reaching college students and then equipping them with a simple strategy and tools to multiply disciples on campus (The Discipleship Tree).
After doing some research and discovering that there is little Christian presence on campus at Tahoe Community College, I decided to look for a nearby church. I called the local Baptist. The pastor answered. He was so happy to hear from me! When I told him that my goal is to help local churches make disciples at their nearby community college, he said: "When can you come!?"
I ended up visiting that weekend. And what a privilege to stay at pastor Alan's home.
I was able to teach a few folks at the church the simple tools for evangelism and disciple-making....
I cannot wait for the opportunity to go back and train some of those leaders on campus!
Pray for the Lord to accomplish his purpose of a disciple-making movement at Tahoe Community College!
The Yorks are passionate about bringing the Gospel to the nations - especially the unreached of the world (those who have no access to the Gospel). They are convinced that the greatest impact they can have in reaching the unreached is by multiplying disciples on college campuses and equipping churches to be missional disciple-makers.
