Dylan: Passionate about reaching his football team!
I few days ago I was on campus with Tyler (a local youth pastor) at Monterey Peninsula College. I went on campus with Tyler a few months ago to show him some ways to do spiritual surveys on campus. He now has four guys he is discipling (including teaching them how to share their faith), and they just started a Bible study on campus!
Dylan (pictured above) is one of the guys that Tyler is discipling. Dylan is on the football team, and he is so excited to be able to live life on mission (the mission of making disciples) on campus and especially on the football team. Dylan is now beginning to disciple another student already!
I had the opportunity to take Dylan out doing spiritual surveys, and we had some wonderful conversations with students! It was so funny that he already knew half of the students we saw on campus (he is a popular guy!). As we were sitting at a table in the sun ending our outreach time in prayer, another football player walks up and says, “Hey Dylan! What are you guys up to?” Dylan’s answer: this is my Christian club on campus and we are talking about outreach. His friend asks, “What do you guys do?” We led him through the spiritual survey, shared the Gospel with him… and he is going to be meeting with Dylan regularly to study the Bible. Praise the Lord for the work he is doing in students’ lives on campus at Monterey Peninsula College! The harvest is indeed ripe.
The Yorks are passionate about bringing the Gospel to the nations - especially the unreached of the world (those who have no access to the Gospel). They are convinced that the greatest impact they can have in reaching the unreached is by multiplying disciples on college campuses and equipping churches to be missional disciple-makers.
