We had another retreat up at the Sending Center last weekend! What an amazing time. We absolutely LOVE hosting friends, old and new, for a time of refreshing and renewal. The highlight for me was training these students in how to multiply their lives by making disciples. We taught them how to share the Gospel using John 3:16 and how to teach others how to read the Bible by doing One Thing Studies. We also gave them a process by which they can help others to grow in their faith and become disciple-makers themselves. After doing an hour of training and announcing that they had some free time, one of the young women asked: "During free time, can you teach me more? I want to learn more about how to make disciples."
Pray for the Lord to continue to use The Sending Center to equip and send out disciple-makers.
The Sending Center is all about equipping disciple-makers, and that is why we just love doing retreats for college students who are just wanting to get away and plan and dream in preparation for another school year of making disciples on campus.
We just had the privilege of hosing the San Francisco CRU Leadership Retreat; what a wonderful weekend!
The highlight for me was simply getting to spend time with these leaders and hear their heart for making disciples of Jesus at CSU San Francisco. We look forward to hearing how these college students continue to change the world by investing in others with the love of Jesus.
Yesterday I had lunch Pastor Dan, the youth pastor at a church very close to Las Positas College. What a wonderful visit! I am looking forward to seeing how the Lord continues connect us to reach Las Positas with the Gospel. Pray with us for a long-lasting discipleship movement there.
A few months ago I had lunch (at Chipotle of course!) with Tyler, a pastor in Milpitas. I shared with him the vision of multiplying disciples on community college campuses.... and after sharing with him our simple strategy and tools to equip leaders and students to make disciples who make disciples, he expressed interest in my returning to do some training.
Fast-forward a few months...
And yesterday I went down to Milpitas again to meet with him and a key student to share our Discipleship Tree and how to discover spiritual interest on campus.
Next step? To go on campus and do some training.
Pray for us to have a continued and growing partnershp to make disciples at Ohlone College.
The Yorks are passionate about bringing the Gospel to the nations - especially the unreached of the world (those who have no access to the Gospel). They are convinced that the greatest impact they can have in reaching the unreached is by multiplying disciples on college campuses and equipping churches to be missional disciple-makers.
